Cherry Cheese Delight

Cherry Cheese Delight has been a staple dessert in my family for as long as I can remember. My grandmother always made this dessert for us every summer. I remember her making a huge one in her iconic Cherry Cheese Delight container. Everyone knew if we were eating with you, Grandma would be bringing this dessert!

In fact, anytime I am wanting to whip up a quick summer dessert, this is always my go to! This desert is somewhat similar to a cheesecake, but so much simpler! There are even more ways we like to simplify the recipe. I like to use premade graham cracker crust and cherry pie filling. I have been known to also make everything from scratch, but it is so delicious either way! You can also modify it by using different fruit fillings like strawberry or blueberry!

First you will want to make the Dream Whip according to the directions. Then combine your softened cream cheese with the Dream Whip. Pour all of the mixture into your graham cracker crust. This next step is very important! Put the pie into the refrigerator for 2 hours, or freezer for 1 hour. This will allow the middle layer to stiffen preventing the cherries from all sinking to the bottom. After that you simply add the pie filling to the top. Yes, that is really it!

I can’t wait to hear what you think about this summer time dessert! For more of our family recipes be sure to check here!
