The Best Water Art Activity for Preschoolers

Magic Painting books by Usborne Books and More are the best water art activity for preschoolers. We began magic painting around the age of 18 months old. Haelyn is now 3 years old and loves them still. She will sit for hours painting all the different pictures. I also enjoy painting them with her.

Why is it magic painting?

The only thing you need is water! The paint is infused into the lines of the picture. Each painting is so vibrant and is a beautiful watercolor. When we use different books to learn about what she is painting. For example: Today we did some from the “Narwhal and Sea Creatures.” After she finished with each picture we would talk about the animal. She learned a lot about sharks, narwhals, and even otters!

I love this mess free water art activity for preschoolers and even toddlers! Most children love to express themselves with painting! However, when we are on long trips or at the doctors office, a small cup of water is not really ideal. For my favorite mess free art option for toddlers we love Crayola Mess Free Markers. I mean mess free is literally in their name! You can see our review for these here.
